Following the conference held on 16 October 2024 on climate change and urban areas, on 14 March 2025, the Province of Treviso organized a study workshop concerning the requalification of urban green areas for a better adaptation to climate change.

The workshop was an activity reserved to DECA-project stakeholders and local municipalities that obtained provincial funds financing projects for the realization and requalification of green areas in the Province of Treviso.

The workshop - funded by the DECA project within the framework of the Interreg Europe Programme - was conducted by two Professors of the Department of Land, Environment, Agriculture and Forestry of the University of Padua (Prof. Lucia Bortolini and Prof. Paolo Semenzato) who analyzed concrete case studies of sustainable management and adaptation to climate change in urban areas of the Province of Treviso.

Following the plenary session, the participants were divided into subgroups and had the opportunity to put into practice the learning of the previous session by analysing case studies and projects of other municipalities of the Province of Treviso, followed by a session of revision and sharing of thoughts.

The aim of this workshop was to guide the participants in the implementation of targeted, conscious and effective actions for climate change adaptation in the construction and management of urban green areas from their design to the implementation.
