About this good practice
Innicia is a regional programme which promotes a permanent improvement of the Andalusian education system to create, innovate and undertake an inherent consequence of
educational processes at all levels, both in the student learning, as in the skill development.
Former regional programmes used to focus on “mini company” programmes, which was targeting the productive dimension only. "Innicia, Entrepreneurial Culture" has meant overcoming the productive dimension as the one that has traditionally defined entrepreneurship, necessarily incorporating its inherent personal and social dimensions. More than a summative / gradual perspective (personal dimension + social dimension + productive dimension), a concentric / integrative approach has been incorporated, in which each and every one of the activities must be linked by these three dimensions.
The programme works on a yearly basis, with a framework of an annual call.
To facilitate the work of teachers on entrepreneurial assets, teaching material, support actions and didactic itinerary are provided so that the educational projects of the centers foster entrepreneurship in all stages and teachings. The itinerary called “I Have a Challenge” is structured in 3 phases: Explore, Develop,Communicate. Each of the phases of "I have a Challenge" has been made to correspond with an emotional polarity, offering guidance and resources depending on the emotion.

Expert opinion
The entrepreneurial culture programme INNICIA is unique as it takes a more comprehensive view of what it means to be an entrepreneur. Instead of the dominating dogma that to be entrepreneurial means to seek profits (at all costs) and all that matters is your company, the INNICIA takes a broader perspective where the personal and social dimensions are also emphasized and interlinked.
This is important in the light of keeping a healthy work-life balance and avoiding burnout. It is also about setting life goals beyond economic gains. Indeed, the programme is set up based on personal challenges that are then brought to the collective level and solving these challenges together in teams in pre- and high schools under the supervision of teachers who have gone through the programme training.
The INNICIA social dimension includes group dynamics exercises related to belonging to a social community and people’s roles in groups. The personal dimension emphasizes personal development and self-awareness elements which are also important to any startup CEO. The programme also covers topics related to social change, gender gap and environment – elements relevant to the social economy and social entrepreneurship. It helps to emphasize to the youths that not all business models need to seek profits as their main gaol; sometimes social impact is more important. Promoting such a form of entrepreneurship is a growing trend and is increasingly higher on the European Commission agenda.
