About this good practice
Rauma aims to be an attractive place to live and work. The industry and municipality Rauma set the goal/vision to become the best place in the world for people how enjoy nature and mountains. For the industrial community this makes recruiting easier. The world is full of engineers, but if they also like mountains and outdoor sports, we believe that there is a greater chance that they will feel at home and settle down. To be relevant for a familiy or youth we need to boost entprepreneurship and the possibility to start your own company. Since the establishment of hoppid.no in 2007, Nordveggen has been a hoppid-office in Rauma municipality. This is a service provided on behalf of the local municipality administration, and are the first point of contact for entrepreneurs.
The service consists of guidance, courses, help with applications, sharing network and free office seating. Nordveggen collaborate with larger cities, and the entrepreneurs can participate in growth programs and courses, and use the network and competence needed. Working digitally through the platform provided by hoppid and offer meetings in person to all the entrepreneurs that wants to use the services.
As part of the work with entrepreneurship Nordveggen contribute to the entrepreneurship programs for schools and innovation camps. The partnership "joy of nature" with the industry and hoppid with regional and national public partners is a good sustainable businessmodel.

Nordveggen has 4 employees, 2 of them work with hoppid.no first line service ( the partnership program to support entrepreneurs in More and Romsdal)
The first line service in Rauma Municipality cost 32.000 EUR. Others employees are financed by the members of the partnership and other projects.

Long-term strategy and a sustainable partnership in the municipality. The culture for entrepreneurship and innovation has increased the last 10 years. The cooperation between the different companies and industries has developed a sharing culture and a mutual dependence. The strong commitment in the partnership of local municipality and the industrial community gives positive results for all participants. Results can be seen in population growth, low rates of unemployment.
