INTERNATIONAL MOBILITY PROGRAMME: CONNECTING TALENT INTERNSHIPS
About this good practice
The city of San Sebastian aims to connect to innovate through people by developing a model which identifies Connection as a critical element, connecting the world of education with the world of business innovation, and connecting this to Talent and new critical skills that are necessary to connect with other territories and organizations at global level. This programme favours international connections with strategic nodes, enabling brain circulation and improving connections with talent hubs and leading organizations worldwide in order to strengthen cooperation of stakeholders and cities.
International mobility programs so that young people with university degrees and advanced vocational training can stay in leading organizations abroad for 6 months, which enhances their mobility to develop their innovation capabilities and improve their job opportunities after their experience.
It also creates and promotes international connections in the city's innovation ecosystem, as well as develop skills and offer value-added professional opportunities to young people from Donostia.
The GP will include the "Develop your own-project" programme: Develop a 6-month stay in leading organizations abroad, which promotes the mobility of young people from San Sebastian to develop their innovation skills and allows them to carry out projects based on their academic profile that improve their employment through projects that have been defined by the students.

1530 euro/month per internship for a period of 6 months.

Evidence of success
Almost 600 internships in 10 years. More than 35 countries participated.

It is essential to have a stable international network in order to guarantee the internships and the tutorship these hosting organization have towards the interns.
The management process of this programme is very demanding due to very diverse scenarios.
