Orientation and Coordination tool for projects regarding transport and mobility in SW Oltenia

In SW Oltenia, SUMP is elaborated only for NUTS 3 level. It appeared necessary to establish a vision at regional level in the transportation field, as a useful tool for the decision making bodies in establishing the economic justification for financing the specific projects. Thus, it was drawn up a Study oriented towards the mobility and transport system, in order to contribute to the development of the politics in the field of transportation. The results of this study were a useful tool for the decision making bodies at county level in establishing the justification for financing road infrastucture (ROP 2014-2020, PI–Improving the road infrastructure of regional and local importance).There were analysed socio-economic indicators related to transport and mobility, especially reffearing to demographic density and economic activities in each territorial unit in the region.The application of the accessibility model required the modelling of the transport network in the form of a graph oriented with arcs and nodes parameterized in Romania's mapping projection system - Stereo 70. The transport network was classified according to road category, county, technical conditions of the infrastructure segments and the proposed/implemented projects, the sources of financing that can be accessed, using the specialized software for transport modelling and planning (which contains the GIS component) Visum 11.5.
