About this good practice
The Guidebook has been published as a book guide, audiobook and two multimedia applications NOE and NEO. It gives practical tips concerning difficult and long-term process of handing over the company to the successor in five fields: financial, law, strategy, organisation and human resources.
The Guidebook is the result of the work of experienced advisors, entrepreneurs – owners of family companies, managers, and scientists. A significant contribution to The Guidebook was made by family companies - they tested the tool and shared their ideas.
The NOE (diagnostic application) is intended for owners of family businesses, in particular nestor and succesors preparing to carry out the succession process. The task of the application is to conduct an interview regarding the degree of enterprise's maturity in the aspect of succession, estimating the level of succession readiness. This readiness is diagnosed separately in five areas: strategic, organizational, personal, financial and legal.
The NEO (planning application) is intended for owners of family businesses, who face the challenge of preparing a succession plan. The prerequisite for using the application is to conduct a diagnostic interview in a twin NOE application. Based on this interview, a preliminary succession plan is generated with an estimate of the sequence of tasks and the time of their implementation. This plan groups tasks in five areas: strategic, organizational, personal, financial and legal (in analogy to NOE)
