About this good practice
What is the problem addressed and the context which triggered the introduction of the practice?
The problem that is addressed with this practice can be considered as the realization through achieving twofold goals: 1) promote a healthy and active lifestyle that features from amateurs to professionals, and 2) showcase local tourism and the economy and create a good climate for small manufacturing and entrepreneurship venture development. This goal aligns with the key measures of the Development Plan of AP Vojvodina 2023-2030.
How does the practice achieve its goals, and how is it implemented?
This practice is divided into three categories: sports, economy, and tourism. As a major cycling event, this manifestation offers significant potential sustainability. As a main social sustainability, we can refer to community engagement, inclusivity, cultural preservation, and the adoption of healthy lifestyle habits using sustainable modes of transportation. Economic sustainability considers launching local business development, sponsor activation, and creating new job opportunities. The ecological part of the event contributes to encouraging waste reduction and recycling programs and nature conservation.

• As a result of its success, Tour de Fruška organized the prestigious international race Gran Fondo Road Race (2024).

• Cultural Events: Showcasing local heritage and Traditions
• Tourism Promotion: Highlighting the region's natural beauty and attractions
• Year-round promotion through workshops with children:
- Cycling to school learning through theoretical and practical teaching of how to safely drive from home to school,
- Learning about vegetables and fruits—Sports event organizers, in cooperation with elementary schools, provide that children attend local producers, learn about the method of growing fruits and vegetables, and participate in picking and preparing food.
