Take part in the EU Beach Cleanup

With the summer in full swing and many of us going to the sea or river side, why not to give hand in a beach cleanup!

The European Union, in partnership with the United Nations and the Smurfs, organises every year the #EUBeachCleanup, an ocean-activism and awareness-raising campaign featuring beach, river banks and various clean-up events across the world.

Have a look at the cleanup events organised close to you. You can also organise your own and let the others know. You can find more information and instructions at the campaign's page. Any cleanup events organised between 10 June and 31 October 2024 count.

Our programme is also proud to contribute to cleaner oceans:

• Many Interreg Europe projects focus on waste management in general. CAPonLITTER had marine litter in focus and identified plenty of good practices.
