Zemgale Planning Region CCI stakeholder progress meeting
At the end of May, the Zemgale Planning Region met with stakeholders in the CCI sector to update them on CHERRY's progress and outline the next steps to implement the project's goal of improving regional development policy documents in the regions of the partner countries involved in the project.
Specifically, the CHERRY project has been implemented for a year. Various studies have been carried out, and the situation of the specific region of each project partner country in the field of culture and creative industries has been identified.
It is important to note that the central aspect was to map the representative's thoughts and implement actions in the field during the pandemic.
Although at first it might seem that the lockdown's influence, when the public could only remotely enjoy culture, brought only negative consequences, this is not the case at all. Some respondents from Zemgale mentioned that during the pandemic, they were able to successfully reorient their activity and implement it through various other channels, including the digital environment.
Examples of good practices in the region were also selected in the three dimensions defined by the project:
- transformation of cultural and creative industries and urban environment;
- cultural and creative industries and local development;
- valorization of cultural and natural values (value increase).
Furthermore, after analyzing the examples submitted by each country, the project partners will upload them on the website of the project program, which will provide an opportunity for anyone interested to get acquainted with the information and, in the future, implement similar projects in their region, therefore jointly developing and perfecting cultural and creative industries.
Moving forward, the project includes exchange of experience visits, training, analysis of regional-level political planning documents and recommendations for improving policy instruments and organizing project publicity events to inform the main project target groups about the project's progress and the achieved results.
