The New European Bauhaus (NEB) Prizes recognise outstanding projects that blend sustainability and inclusion. This year’s awards will spotlight affordable housing solutions alongside other transformative initiatives.

NEB "Affordable housing prizes"

Two competition strands will award both completed projects ("NEB Champions") and emerging concepts by young talents under 30 ("NEB Rising Stars"). Under the strand "NEB Champions", four projects will be awarded for contributing to efforts to improve affordable housing while also committing to NEB values and principles.

The 2025 prizes will recognise 22 winners and runner-ups in total, who will be selected under four categories:

  • Reconnecting with nature
  • Regaining a sense of belonging
  • Prioritizing people and places in need
  • Supporting circular industries and life-cycle thinking

The monetary prize is €30,000 and a communication package to further their impact.

NEB Boost: For small municipalities

In parallel, the NEB Boost for Small Municipalities will fund 20 projects that foster community-driven transformation in towns with under 20,000 inhabitants. These initiatives will focus on sustainable construction, public space adaptation, carbon neutrality and heritage preservation.

Each winner will receive €30,000 and tailored communication support.

Applications for both initiatives are open until 14 February 2025, 19:00 CET.

Detailed guidelines are available in multiple languages on the official NEB Prizes platform. Winners will be announced in autumn at the European Parliament.
