Lisbon selected as mission city

Lisbon has been selected by the European Commission as one of the 100 ‘Climate Neutral and Smart by 2030’ Mission Cities, committing to an ambitious target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adapting and resilience to a changing climate. In this context, we have developed the ‘City Climate Contract’ (CCC Lisboa 2030), which includes the city's commitment, the action plan and the investment plan necessary for its full realisation, a document that has been awarded the ‘Mission Label’ by the European Commission. This is the policy instrument addressed in the DECA project.
Between March and April 2025, the first participatory sessions under the Lisbon City Climate Contract took place, entitled ‘Lisbon's Path to Climate Neutrality by 2030: Commitment and Action’. Representatives from organisations, universities, companies, local authorities and the general population are actively collaborating, presenting their contributions to accelerate our city's climate transition and adaptation.
