5th GOCORE pressure cooker - island of Saaremaa, Estonia

The next Pressure Cooker event of the GOCORE project takes place in Kuressaare, Estonia, hosted by Saaremaa Municipality Government on 6 – 8 May 2025.

For seven years, the island of Saaremaa has acted as one local government instead of former 13 rural municipalities and 1 urban local government with 40% of the total population. The past years have served as an adaptation period for both the communities and local government institutions.

In the course of the GOCORE project, Saaremaa Municipality Government has learnt from the examples demonstrated by our partners to empower the unity and resilience of local communities for contributing to the quality of life and development.  During the upcoming Pressure Cooker, Saaremaa will share theoretical and practical experience in community action for the benefit of people and the living environment.

Saaremaa Municipality Government will highly appreciate the findings and suggestions of our partners during the Peer Review process for increasing social capital, the perceived cohesion between rural and urban communities as well as efficient interaction between municipal institutions and different communities.
