Alternative Tourism Workshop, Italy, November 20 to 21, 2024

Radenko Matić, project manager for the DEPART Project in Serbia and a representative from the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education at the University of Novi Sad, participated in the Alternative Tourism: An Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform Workshop, held from November 20 to 21, 2024, in Vittorio Veneto, Italy. This workshop focused on optimizing social and economic benefits through “alternative tourism,” emphasizing balanced development for host communities and showcasing unique offerings from lesser-known destinations.

🎯 The event highlighted methods of co-creation and stakeholder collaboration to develop alternative tourism opportunities in European regions. Inspiring good practices examples from the Interreg Europe community were presented, including the promotion of the Tour de Fruška event, as a standout example of how sports, economy, and tourism intersect in the autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia.
