Energy communities conference in Bordeaux (FR)
The challenges of the energy transition have led to the emergence of a new social dynamic for local energy production. This phenomenon has not gone unnoticed by the public authorities, which have sought to create a coherent legal framework for its development. Currently, we are witnessing a multiplication and diversification of energy communities at the territorial level. Moreover, this observation is not limited to the French example, but also across many EU Member States and internationally. The result is complexity. It is reflected in the diversity of terminologies used to designate these energy communities ("citizen energy communities", "renewable energy communities"), as well as in the diversity of financing and governance models. This complex issue can only be fully understood and analyzed through an interdisciplinary approach. This scientific event aims to provide a common framework for reflection, bringing together lawyers, economists, sociologists, geographers, philosophers, and historians, and enriched by the contribution of testimonies from the actors of energy communities (local authorities, citizens, network managers, etc.).
