Innovative Approaches on Alternative forms of Tourism

📢 On the 3rd of June, the International Hellenic University, under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, hosted in Thessaloniki a meeting about Innovative Approaches on Alternative forms of Tourism.

The event focused on the scientific approach to thematic tourism in Greece and the implementation of innovative proposals in the operation of tourism, a fundamental pillar of the Greek industry.

There, Prof. Kostas Alexandris from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Sports Management & Tourism Department had the opportunity to present DEPART, an ambitious Interreg Europe project, highlighting the goals of strategic development of sustainable sports tourism in Greece and Europe.

The event attracted a wide audience of stakeholders and researchers, including government officials, mayors, representatives from the Region of Central Macedonia and the International Hellenic University.

Participants had the opportunity to discuss about alternative forms tourism and the innovative approaches needed to extend the touristic season in Greece and promote sustainability.
