The 2nd ‘TRAM Stakeholders Group meeting’ of Miskolc was held on 26th April at the premises of Miskolc Holding Municipal Asset management Plc. Participants represented several stakeholders such as the local public transportation provider company, the municipal urban development organization, the local communication company, Miskolc Holding, and certainly the Municipality of Miskolc City of County Rank that is a project partner in TRAM. Moreover, the Hungarian representatives of ITRE also took part and provided a presentation on the actual status and content of the long-term Transport Development Concept of Miskolc, a strategic document currently under development, and its connections to the thematic areas TRAM project is dealing with.
The presentation was followed by an interactive session, the key objective of which was to discuss about the wider list of pre-collected local practices having notable relevance to TRAM’s ‘good practice database’ and, importantly, to jointly agree on a final list of 9 good practices (GPs) that are deemed to have the highest potential for future adoption/replication by other partners, certainly tailored to their regional and local features. The final list, deriving as a result of the session, includes 4 practices relevant to the thematic area called ‘intelligent transport solutions for urban areas’, and another 5 practices connected to the ‘low emission and green transport’ two of which are also strongly related to ‘transport policies’ topic. The vast majority of the selected GPs are accompanied with factual evidences on their success as they are resulting from past projects. One of the key interventions of Miskolc, i.e. so called intelligent urban traffic management system, is only in the planning phase, another one targeting the improvement and extension of biking infrastructure at city scale is ongoing.
Next step is to share detailed information on the 9 selected GPs with TRAM partners and ITRE members – the latter will soon start the evaluation of all 45 practices collected from all project partners aimed identifying possible synergies and connectivity among particular GPs coming from different countries and also on transferability potential of specific GPs to urban/regional environments represented by the each partner.
