This is the good practice's implementation level. It can be national, regional or local.
About this good practice
The lack of specific support measures for SMEs in the ERDF ROP of our region makes it difficult to direct the promotion of regional organic sector to the normative framework of these funds.
The legal framework is the Regulation (EU) 1308 / 2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 December 2013.
The object of the measure is to prioritize supply to schools of organic fruits and vegetables produced in Navarra, by producers of the region of Navarre, and which are integrated into agricultural organizations.
The cost of the implementation of the Plan of consumption of fruit in schools is co-financed by 75% by the European Union and by 25% by the region of Navarre.
The distribution of fruit to schools will conform to, among others requirements, that at least 20% of the ration must be of organic products.
It shall be eligible, among others, direct costs such as fruit and vegetables, and related costs such as costs of information and promotional material.
They will benefit from these subsidies, determined by competitive procedure, providers authorized to distribute fruit and vegetables in schools from the region of Navarre.

Resources needed
The cost of the implementation of the Plan of consumption of fruit in schools is co-financed by 75% by the European Union and by 25% by the region of Navarre. Allocated 12.600,00 euros to the first period of the 2016-2017 course school fruit scheme .
Evidence of success
2016 only one processor benefitted from the measure.
The requirement that at least 20% of the rations supplied must be of organic products will increase in the same measure the consumption of organic fruit in the schools.

Potential for learning or transfer
Despite the disadvantage posed by the size of the tender for small organic producers, it can encourage the structuring of the sector in producer groups.
The increase in the ecological production area from 2015 to 2017 is related to the implementation of this support measure, and its inclusion in the legal framework of EAGF justifies its transfer potential to other regions.
