On 14 June the stakeholders of Podravje Region have met for the 3rd time within the INERTWASTE project. Representatives of 3 organizations (Deltaplan, Nigrad and RDAPM) discussed the ongoing activities within the project.

The first point of the meeting was the feedback on the TLJ experience that was hosted by RDAPM in Maribor, where Nigrad, who hosted the site visit during the second day got a chance to show several initiatives they have started on in-situ. They were very grateful for the opportunity.

Next, the representatives of Deltaplan were discussing the possibility to influence the local and regional policies for waste validation and were interested in the experience of the Peer Workshop, where possible solutions for policy changes were presented. RDAPM presented the findings of the workshop, where the Danish experience of climate action initiative was seen as a good practice to follow.

The main focus of the meeting was, however, the selection of the good practice to presented at the TLJ3 in October and the next best practices to be included on the PLP. All agreed that the SRIP practice is a valid one and should be submitted, however, it should be more in line with the guidelines for inclusion of PLP. As both Nigrad and RDAPM are SRIP members, the presentation of the practice should be more focused on the SRIP as a platform and support environment for circular economy than a administrative structure and its track record.

For the future GPs there are two Nigrad cases, both for validation of construction waste materials (within Cinderela project) and the regulations for Green bio waste, which is being implemented at this point. Both are to be individually pursued at follow up meetings between Nigrad and RDAPM.
